HAMPDEN COMMEMORATION,
ON CHALGROVE FIELD
On Monday, the 19th JUNE 1843 a DINNER (Lord Nugent in the
Chair) will take place on CHALGROVE FIELD, in commemoration of
the Two Hundredth Anniversary of the Chalgrove Fight, (at which
John Hampden received his death wound,) and of the dedication
of a monument to be raised in that place to the memory of
Hampden. The company will assemble at one o'clock, when the
marble portrait will be lifted in its place on the monument,
and the dinner will be on table at three. Tickets, 5s each, to
be obtained of Mr. John Gurney, Bell Inn, Aylesbury: at the bar
of the Red Lion, High Wycombe ; at the offices of the Aylesbury
News, Aylesbury, and of the Oxford Chronicle, Oxford ; and from

NB. In order that proper arrangement should be made for
accommodation, it is requested that gentlemen desirous of
attending the dinner will send for their tickets before Monday,
the 12th June, after which day no more tickets will be issued.
The ticket will be required for admission to the dinner.
